AmpLedger

Terms of use

Last updated August 18, 2026

By using AmpLedger you accept the terms below. They are short, and the important one is the second heading.

What this site is

AmpLedger publishes information about residential electricity rate plans, incentive programs, and electric vehicle charging equipment in the United States. It is a reference and an editorial publication. It is not a utility, an electrical contractor, a retailer, a broker, or a licensed professional of any kind.

Nothing here is electrical advice

Electrical work is dangerous and is regulated. Nothing on this site is installation guidance, a code interpretation, or a substitute for a licensed electrician. We describe how the buying decision is structured — amperage, circuit sizing, connector standards, rate plans — so you can have an informed conversation with a professional. We do not tell you how to wire anything.

Any electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician, permitted where your jurisdiction requires it, and inspected by your local authority having jurisdiction. Code adoption varies by state and by municipality, and we do not assert which code edition applies to you. Confirm with your local authority.

Rate and incentive information

Every rate figure on this site is read from the utility's own published tariff or rate schedule and carries the date it was verified. Utilities file revisions continuously, some publish only part of the delivered price, and your actual bill depends on riders, franchise fees and taxes specific to your service address. Figures here are estimates for comparing your options, not quotations. Always confirm current pricing with your own utility before you commit to a rate plan.

Where a published rate covers only part of the delivered price, we label it and say what is missing. We may still be wrong. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it and note the correction.

Product information and affiliate links

Product specifications are taken from manufacturer documentation and retailer listings and are verified on the date shown. Manufacturers change specifications and retailers delist products without notice. Confirm the amperage, connector standard and certification of any unit on the retailer's page before you buy.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. See our affiliate disclosure for the details.

No warranty

This site is provided on an "as is" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the information is complete, current, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AmpLedger and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content, including but not limited to purchasing decisions, installation costs, utility bills, or property damage.

Intellectual property

The text, layout, code and original graphics on this site belong to AmpLedger. Product names, brand names and trademarks referenced on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; their appearance here does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those owners. Underlying facts — rates, specifications, code sections — are not owned by anyone, and you are welcome to verify them at the sources we cite.

Links to other sites

We link to utilities, government agencies, standards bodies, manufacturers and independent reviewers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Changes

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change when we do, and continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
